Conclusions : This study suggests that AA intervention leads to more cardiac parasympathetic and less cardiac
sympathetic activity, which contributes to the improvement of PI.

Study procedure
All participants received a subjective sleep quality questionnaire
and HRV measurements before the AA treatment. The
baseline HRV measurement was a precordial electrocardiogram
(ECG) taken for 5 minutes while the participant was
lying quietly and breathing normally at 9 to 11 A.M. After the
HRV measurement was taken ; the participants received the AA
treatment, which used a 0.2-cm-sized magnetic pellet on a 1-cmsized
sticky patch (Ching-Ming Co, Taiwan), which was placed
bilaterally on five auricular points (Shenmen, kidney, heart,
brainstem, and subcortex)
